I am pleased to inform you that the Indian Journal of Surgery (IJS), the official publication of Indian Association of
Surgeons.
The IJS is to adopt an online system of peer review and to this effect we have set up an online manuscript management site
www.journalonweb.com/
that allows online submission and processing of manuscripts. Submitted manuscripts will be forwarded to the reviewers by email, who will in turn review and return the manuscript online. The authors will be able to track the progress of their articles on this site thus making the review process more transparent.
In our commitment to quality improvement and timeliness, we are seeking reviewers with special interest in
Surgery. Familiarity with the internet and a level of comfort with use of computers is a must for those wishing to be reviewers in this web-based system. The IJS does not release the names of reviewers to the authors, and names of authors are not released to reviewers.
The reviewers must be willing to:
- Evaluate one or more papers each year. The exact number will depend on how many submissions match your area of expertise.
- Review any subsequent versions of the same manuscripts, if required.
- Return the review form with comments on each manuscript.
- Return the manuscripts by email on or before the 3-week deadline, keeping the editors informed of any expected delays.
